Triton Lillestrøm swimming and triathlon club wants to contribute to the schools' swimming lessons. Many students are not able to swim at the end of the 4th grade, which they must be in accordance with the competence goals in the curriculum. The municipality and we as a voluntary organization want to do something about this. Schools that do not have teaching staff who have sufficient competence to teach swimming can receive support from the municipality to use external instructors from, among others, Triton Lillestrøm swimming and triathlon club. Triton Lillestrøm swimming and triathlon club can provide qualified and experienced instructors. The school must have at least one teacher as a valid annual test in lifesaving competence and who can contribute to the teaching. Schools with teaching staff who do not have the necessary competence to teach swimming can participate in a teacher training course developed by the Norwegian Swimming Association. The course is based on the curriculum on swimming in the physical education subject. This course is organized by Triton Lillestrøm swimming and triathlon club according to the course plan from the Norwegian Swimming Association. All teachers who work with swimming lessons must take an annual lifesaving test. A school inspector from the Norwegian Swimming Association can check the annual test in lifesaving at your school and / or hold courses in first aid / cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
